MIAMI TWP., Ohio (WDTN) – Police are looking for suspects after an armed robbery at a movie theater in Miami Township.

Dispatchers were called to the scene at Danbarry Cinemas, around 3 pm.

They say two underage male suspects threatened employees with a gun, stole roughly $1,370, and then fled in an unknown direction. Detective Sergeatant MIke Siney told 2 NEWS police believed they knew the identity of one of the suspects but were still working to confirm that.

The movie theater is right across the street from the Miami Township Police Department. That allowed officers to arrive within 20 seconds. Siney said when police arrived, they believed the suspects were still in the building. After an extensive search of the building, it was discovered the suspects ran out a back exit.

A search of the exterior of the building was also conducted. Evidence like money taken from the theater was found during that search.

No injuries were reported during the armed robbery.
