Police search for sexual assault suspect near UD campus

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Authorities are looking for a suspect in a sexual assault near the University of Dayton campus.

The UD Department of Public Safety says the incident happened just before 2:30 a.m. on Sunday April 14th.

Authorities say it happened in the GAS parking lot behind the Garden Apartments on E. Stewart Street.

According to authorities, a female student said a man approached her from behind, called her name and then grabbed and physically assaulted her. The man reportedly pushed the woman to the ground before running away.

During a follow up interview, the woman claimed she was sexually assaulted.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Department of Public Safety dispatcher at 937-229-2121.
