Police resume search for Chelsey Coe in Miamisburg

MIAMISBURG, Ohio (WDTN) – Police and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation are back at a Miamisburg home Friday searching for Chelsey Coe.

Miamisburg police chief John Sedlak said officers received some new information – from someone else – that led them to search the home, one more time.

“We were here previously on May 1st and did not find Chelsey at that time, so we’re back still looking here,” Sedlak said.

“We came upon additional information that corroborated that this would be perhaps a fortuitous place to look at it added a little more specifics than what we had initially.”

Police say new information was received that investigators were searching the right area but not the correct spot.

Chelsey Coe was reported missing to  Miamisburg Police in September 2017.

Investigators and the BCI searched the home and yard in the 500 block of Lower Miamisburg Road in May. Police said at the time they had a “strong person of interest” in the case but that person was not fully cooperating.

In July, police searched an area of Sugarcreek Metropark and closed the area for part of two days but did not find anything.

The police chief said crews would wrap up the search Friday night, unless they came across anything “unexpected.”
