TROY, Ohio (WDTN) – An off-duty police officer was injured in a crash Wednesday afternoon.
Our friends at the Piqua Daily Call report that an off-duty Troy police officer called dispatch to report that he had been involved in a crash near Arthur Drive around 4 p.m. He then requested a medic unit to respond in case of injuries.
Capt. Joe Long said that a Chevrolet Suburban Tahoe pulled out in front of 52-year-old Patrolman Todd Sloan and T-boned his Ford F-250 truck.
Sloan was taken to Upper Valley Medical Center with minor injuries, while the other driver was not injured.
Both vehicles were heavily damaged. The truck hit a large utility pole, knocking out power to traffic lights at the intersection.
