RIVERSIDE, Ohio (WDTN) – A man mowing his lawn in Riverside was hit by a car Tuesday.
Police tell 2 NEWS a car was driving north on Old Troy Pike when it crossed the road and went into a yard. The man on a riding mower was hit and dragged 40-50 yards, according to police. The unidentified man suffered critical injuries in the crash.
The car that struck him continued on, crashing into a neighbor’s house. A man and woman inside the car were both taken to the hospital. The driver suffered critical injuries but the passenger was awake and talking, according to police on the scene.
Police told 2 NEWS there were no initial signs that alcohol or drug use were at play, but a woman who called 911 told dispatchers she believed the people in the car were intoxicated.
Officials say the investigation is ongoing and an officer is attempting to obtain a search warrant to draw blood in order to determine if the driver was impaired in any way.
