Police: Man shot in shoulder while sitting in car in Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) –- Police are working to learn what led to a shooting in Dayton late Thursday.

Officers went to Boltin Street, near Josie Street, on reports of a shooting just before 9 p.m. Thursday.

When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to his left shoulder.

Authorities say A nearby resident heard gunshots before finding the wounded victim in a car in a parking lot.

The 911 caller said the man was sitting in the passenger’s seat and she was unsure if he had been driving or if a driver had run away. 

The victim was taken to Miami Valley Hospital. Authorities have not released his condition.

Police have not released any suspect information.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call Dayton Police or Crimestoppers at 222-STOP.
