DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Police are looking for a suspect after a shooting at a Dayton gas station late Thursday night and now say they are looking for a person of interest in the case.

Friday afternoon, police said investigators want to speak with a person of interest in the shooting. Detectives are trying to find Alexander Ewing, 38. Ewing is 5-feet, 11-inches tall and weighs 175 pounds.

Officers responded to reports of a person shot at the Shell gas station at the corner of Siebenthaler Avenue and Main Street just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday.

When officers arrived, there was no suspect or victim at the scene.

Police say someone drove the victim to the hospital.

That person actually drove the victim to Good Samaritan Hospital, which is now closed. The driver called 911, asking for help and saying she had the shooting victim in her car.

Medics went to Good Sam and transported the victim to Miami Valley Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

Police are still searching for the suspect. Officers at the scene say the shooting may have happened after an argument.

Anyone who knows where Ewing can be found is asked to call the Dayton Police Department at 937-333-COPS (2657) or Crime Stoppers at 222-STOP (7867).
