Police investigate murder-suicide in Preble County

PREBLE COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) – The Preble County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a murder-suicide that occurred on Jan. 19.

Around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, deputies responded to 180 W. Lakengren Dr. in the gated community of Lakengren for a welfare check. A family member had contacted the Sheriff’s Office stating that their brother could not be reached and had not reported to work as scheduled that evening.

When deputies arrived, they found 56-year-old Bradley D. Creech dead on a lower level of the house, as well as an adult female, 55-year-old Susan K. Creech, deceased on the upper level. Bradley had two gunshot wounds and Susan was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Preliminary investigation found that the man and women were married and both lived at the residence.

The case is being investigated by the Preble County Sheriff’s Office and the Coroner’s Office as a murder-suicide.

Evidence gathered at the scene will be sent to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) Crime Lab in London.
