Police and bomb squad investigate suspicious package near RTA hub in Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A bomb squad used a remote opening procedure on a suspicious package found near the RTA hub in Dayton.

Regional dispatch tells 2 NEWS that an officer found the suspicious package while walking through the RTA hub around 8:30 a.m. Monday on S. Jefferson Street. 

Bus services continued running but officials asked people to board the buses at the intersection of N. Main Street and W. Third Street.

Jefferson Street was blocked between Second Street and Fourth Street, as was Third Street at St. Clair Street.

The RTA hub was cleared out during the investigation.
