DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A plant sale to support a MetroPark is what’s working in Dayton.
Just in time for Mother’s Day, the Mayfair plant sale took place this weekend at Wegerzyn Gardens MetroPark on Siebenthaler Avenue. The sale featured vegetables, herbs, garden art, and more to help spruce up homes and gardens this spring.
The sale’s organizers had some advice for people who bought plants today. Co-chair Dolores James and volunteer Carol Self say, “People want to put their tomatoes in as soon as they buy them. But there’s not only the danger of still a frost from now until the end of May, but the ground is also cold.”
Organizers say the sale is one of the major fundraisers for the Wegerzyn Foundation every year.
