Piqua man charged with importuning for trying to meet underage girl

GREENVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) – A Piqua man is facing charges after driving to Greenville in order to meet with a 14-year-old girl, who was actually an undercover officer.

On May 1, 61-year-old Michael Taylor made contact with an undercover Greenville Police officer online who was posing as a 14-year-old girl.

Taylor agreed to come to Greenville in order to engage in sexual activity with the person he believed to be a juvenile female.

When he arrived in Greenville, he was arrested by officers from Greenville Police and the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

Taylor is charged with importuning, a fifth-degree felony, and was incarcerated without bond.

Further charges are pending review from the Darke County Prosecutor’s Office.
