KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) — One person is in custody after officers called for countywide assistance in Kettering early Wednesday.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute on Acorn Drive, near Fairhaven Court, around 1 a.m. Wednesday.

When officers arrived, one person involved in the dispute held a knife to their own throat in the back bedroom of a house.

That person refused to follow orders from officers, who then issued a “Signal 99” call for assistance.

The suspect surrendered moments later, and the “Signal 99” was canceled.

No one was injured.

Police say drugs or alcohol may have been a factor in the incident.

Authorities have not released what charges the suspect will face.
