HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN) -- A man hit by a vehicle near I-70 in Huber Heights has died.
The Montgomery County Coroner identifies the victim as 42-year-old John D. Williams from new Carlisle.
It happened around 10 p.m. Friday. Huber Heights Police were called to the off ramp for I-70 westbound near S.R. 202 for a pedestrian strike.
The person who reported the incident said the victim was on the ground and a third person was performing CPR on him.
Huber Heights Fire Division medics arrived on scene and transported the victim to Miami Valley Hospital.
An initial investigation shows the victim, later identified as Williams, was out of his vehicle trying to pick up an item from the roadway. He was wearing dark clothing and bending down when he was struck by a vehicle that was exiting the highway.
The incident remains under investigation.
