HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN) – Police say a man is now facing charges after he fled from officers during a traffic stop in Huber Heights.

Just before 5:50 p.m. Monday, a Huber Heights officer observed a silver Chevrolet Equinox traveling with its passenger side tires in the grass on Powell Road.

The officer then pulled the driver over for a marked lanes violation on Rip Rap Road.

The rear passenger got out of the car and fled the scene. He ran west, hopped a fence, and then ran south along the Great Miami River.

He was later caught under the Wagner Ford bridge and charged with possession of drugs and obstructing official business.

The driver was cited for not having a valid license.

Both the driver and front passenger were released at the scene and the car was towed.
