One person in custody after SWAT standoff in Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A man is in custody after a standoff in Dayton Monday.

Crews responded to a home on Alwildly Avenue just after 4 p.m. Monday.

Authorities say police were looking for a person wanted in connection with a rape investigation.

The suspect barricaded himself inside the house.

Dayton Police called SWAT and a hostage negotiator to the scene.

After nearly seven hours, the suspect surrendered around 11 p.m. Monday. Police took the man into custody.

No one was injured.

The suspect’s name has not been released.
