One injured from an apartment fire in Dayton

One person suffered minor injuries as firefighters successfully contain an apartment fire.

Regional dispatch confirmed the call came in just after 9:00 p.m. Thursday.

Crews responded to the building at the 900 block of  Wilmington Avenue. Four blocks of Wilmington Avenue were closed temporarily to allow firefighters to work the scene.

Officials say the fire started on the fourth floor inside the kitchen of one of the units. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.

One person suffered minor injuries, but was treated at the scene and not taken to the hospital. There are no other injuries in connection to the case.

Firefighters also say this is second time they’ve been called to an apartment fire to this location this year.
