Stolen car leads to call for backup, 1 arrested

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - One man is in custody after police call for help from around the county Tuesday night.

It started around 9:00 p.m. Tuesday when officers tried to stop a stolen vehicle.

The driver of that vehicle stopped at a home in the 100 block of N. Wright Avenue near Woodley Road, where officers found a second stolen vehicle.

Officers confronted the two men in the vehicle, and a scuffle ensued.

One of the men fighting with officers had a gun in his pocket, and officers called for extra help by issuing a 'signal 99.'

Authorities were able to take that man into custody.

The second man in the vehicle ran from the scene, and officers are continuing to search for him.

Dayton police say they also found drugs outside of that home on N. Wright Avenue.

Two people inside the home were taken in for questioning, but have not been arrested.
