PANAMA CITY, Florida (WDTN) — Ohoi Task Force 1 got to work Thursday, just one day after Hurricane Michael slammed into the Florida panhandle.
The 16-member team traveled from Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama to Panama City Thursday morning.
A shot time later, the team began wide-area searches in storm-affected areas.
Hurricane Michael made landfall in nearby Mexico Beach as a Category Four storm. The storm has been linked to at least six deaths since making landfall Wednesday.
The team expects to conduct more searches Friday. All team members have been reported safe.
