Officials rescue kayaker stranded in river

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Rescuers pull a woman from the Great Miami River after she fell out of her kayak.

It happened at around 6 p.m. between Salem Avenue and Monument Street.

The Dayton Fire Department says the woman was stranded on a rock in the river with strong currents.  They were able to reach her and bring her to safety.  Medics evaluated her and she appeared to be ok.

They say the woman was wearing a life jacket while kayaking.
