Northmont Board approves land purchase for future use or sale

Local News

ENGLEWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) – The Northmont Board of Education approved the purchase of a 22-acre parcel of land on National Road for future expansion at Monday evening’s meeting.

The district said in a release Tuesday Board member Thomas Walker and Tom Kleptz negotiated a deal regarding the land east of the Kleptz Early Learning Center.

The parcel of land is approximately 22 acres where the Wolf Creek runs next to the existing PK-1 building. The land was purchased 31 percent below the original asking price. Northmont said it is thankful to the Kleptz family for allowing the district to purchase such a valued property below market price.

There are no immediate plans to build, but the district says the purchase provides options to build in the future.

The district also said it could opt to sell the land at a later date.

The district says it will be able to farm the land in the meantime to gain a small revenue until the next phase of construction or a real estate transaction takes place.
