New Paris woman charged with drug trafficking

PREBLE COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) – Authorities arrested a New Paris resident after investigators bought methamphetamine from her in Eaton.

On November 29, 2018, officers conducted a controlled buy of suspected methamphetamine from 58-year-old Kelly Cox.

After the purchase was completed, deputies stopped the car that Cox as in and observed her attempting to hide additional drugs.

Deputies recovered around 1.8 ounces of suspected methamphetamine from Cox, including the amount purchased before pulling her over.

Street value of this amount is about $3,500.

Cox was held in the Preble County Jail that evening.

A grand jury indicted Cox on the following charges of aggravated possession of drugs, a second-degree felony, and trafficking in drugs, a third-degree felony, on December 3.

She remains in the Preble County Jail, awaiting arraignment.
