Multiple crews on scene of ‘fully-involved’ garage fire

Local News

CLAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Emergency crews responded to a two-alarm fire that overtook a 3-car garage at a home in Clayton late Tuesday afternoon.

Regional dispatch says the call came in just after 5 p.m. in the 6700 block of Crestway Drive.

The garage became fully engulfed in flames before spreading to the first floor of the home, according to Clayton Fire Chief Brian Garver.

He said that upon arrival, there was heavy fire in the back of the structure, and firefighters had to get control of it before they could enter the home.

No one was home at the time of the fire but a family pet was killed.

The home is uninhabitable due to the amount of damage sustained, but Garver could not estimate exactly how much damage was done.
