DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The suspect in a standoff at a Washington Township motel is due in federal court Monday.

Kurt Denton Crouch is facing several charges, including assault on a federal task force officer with a deadly weapon.

Authorities say Crouch holed up inside the Motel 6 on Miamisburg Centerville Road for more than nine hours on January 29th.

Someone called 911 saying they heard gunshots from a neighboring room.

When officers arrived, they found a man, later identified as Crouch, inside one of the rooms. Authorities say Crouch fired shots through a window of a room at the motel.

Police and SWAT officers surrounded the motel for nearly nine hours before Crouch finally surrendered.

He’s due in federal court Monday at 1:30 p.m. for a detention hearing.
