The Montgomery County Jail will be honoring correctional officers all this week.
It’s part of National Correctional Officers’ Week. The week recognizes the work of correctional professionals who keep our communities safe.
“They are brave, courageous and tenacious individuals who put their lives and health at risk every day to keep the public safe and provide a multitude of services to incarcerated individuals. Our highly devoted corrections personnel do more than “guard” offenders. They counsel, teach and rebuild lives,” Montgomery County Sheriff Robert Streck says.
The Montgomery County Jail currently has about 130 correctional staff members. Each day of National Corrections Officer Week will offer a special treat or event. Staff members will also show their appreciation by bringing them food and other goodies.
