Local News

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is deploying a new unmanned aircraft system. The new drones will be used in various critical incidents and special operations when deputies on the ground need an aerial view.

“There are all kinds of scenarios that come up where we’ll be able to use these unmanned aircrafts. They provide safety for the deputies and it also provides safety for citizens, especially on missing persons cases and things like that,” says Sheriff Streck.

Deputies received drone training through Sinclair Community College.
