DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Montgomery County Children Services is raising awareness of child abuse. They hosted their annual Child Abuse Prevention Walk Wednesday at Haines Children’s Center.
It began with a brief program featuring several community leaders followed by hundreds of county employees participating in the walk.
It also gave resources to parents on how to deal with stressful situations at home.
“Being a parent myself, when children are younger, sometimes you do reach your wit’s end. I think the term frustrated or frazzled was used earlier today, and we do want to provide opportunities to let people know that resources are available,” says Michelle Niedermier, Director of Montgomery County Job and Family Services.
This was the third year for the event, which is part of National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
