DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The building that formerly housed the Dayton-area Toys ‘R’ Us store is set to be auctioned off in August.
Our friends at the Dayton Business Journal report that the store, located at 2859 Miamisburg-Centerville Road in Miamisburg, is one of 123 Toys ‘R’ Us and Babies ‘R’ Us buildings being auctioned off throughout the country on August 13 and 14 as long as “qualified bids” are placed in advance.
The auction will be conducted by Melville, New York-based A&G Realty Partners in Manhattan at the Kirkland & Ellis LLP offices. Lazard, a financial advisory and asset management firm, will act as the investment banker for the company and its affiliated debtors.
Initial bids are due on August 7 for the properties. In Ohio, 18 stores will be auctioned. Among those, three are in Cincinnati and three are in Columbus. Store sizes range from 20 thousand to 65 thousand square feet and are either standalone locations, side-by-side, or combined stores. Both freestanding and shopping center locations will be auctioned.
Miamisburg’s store is freestanding and sits close to I-675, near Payless Furniture and Mattress, Best Buy, and The Home Depot. The store is 44,482 square feet and was built in 1987, according to Montgomery County property records.
