DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Blood drives around the Miami Valley will start Wednesday to help fill the critical need of blood donations.

The American Red Cross is running a campaign to help spread awareness about the issue by removing the letters A, B and O from its website to signify the missing blood types hospitals need.

According to the Red Cross, blood donations have declined by 80,000 per year.
