Miami Valley to host blood drives to fill critical need

 DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Blood drives around the Miami Valley will start Wednesday to help fill the critical need of blood donations.

The American Red Cross is running a campaign to help spread awareness about the issue by removing the letters A, B and O from its website to signify the missing blood types hospitals need.

According to the Red Cross, blood donations have declined by 80,000 per year.

 Below is a list of where you can donate blood around the Miami Valley:

Wednesday, June 13Forest Glen Health Campus, 2150 Montego Drive, Springfield, Ohionoon-6:00 p.m.
Tuesday, June 19First United Methodist Church, 201 Main N., Bellefontaine, Ohionoon-6:00 p.m.
Sunday, June 24Xenia Church of Christ, 444 County Club Drive, Xenia, Ohio1:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
Monday, June 25First Presbyterian Church, 116 W. Court Street, Urbana, Ohionoon-6:00 p.m.
Monday, June 25Belle Center United Methodist Church, 101 S. Center Street2:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
Friday, June 29Koverman Staley Dickerson Insurance, 1106 W. Main Street, Troy, Ohio1:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
