Miami Valley braces for showers and thunderstorms Tuesday

Local News

(WDTN) — The Miami Valley is bracing for more rain Tuesday, with scattered showers and thunderstorms likely for the entire region.

People across the area will wake up to overcast conditions, and rain will be ongoing in some spots.

There will be a lull in coverage during the late morning and early afternoon, but more rain will develop and move into the area later in the day.

As a cold front moves into the area, scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon and evening hours.

There is a slight risk for some stronger thunderstorms later Tuesday, with the most likely time being late afternoon and evening. Those storms could extend into the overnight hours.

The primary risk for the Miami Valley would be damaging winds and the potential for heavy rainfall.

A flash flood watch continues for areas to the south and east through Wednesday morning.
