Medical issue to blame for fatal crash in Jefferson Twp.

Local News

JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) – Jefferson Township Fire Department officials believe a medical issue may have caused a driver to crash his truck into a pole Wednesday afternoon.

The 57-year-old man died on the scene and first responders think he may have suffered a heart attack just before the accident.

It happened around 3:30 p.m. in the area of West Third Street and Diamond Mill Road. The driver was traveling west on West Third Street and went left of the center line at Diamond Mill Road, continuing off the left side of the roadway and striking the pole.

Citizens performed CPR on the man until authorities arrived.

The incident remains under investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Services Unit.
