McDonald’s customers aid mother after her daughter is shot in Trotwood

TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) – A 4-year-old was taken to the hospital Wednesday evening after being struck by a bullet in the midst of a shooting incident in Trotwood.

The shooting began at Salem Avenue and Olive Road just after 6:00pm, Wednesday. 

The child was in the back seat of a car that was traveling on Salem Avenue, when another vehicle pulled up beside the car and opened fire, striking the child.

“The mother is here trying to console her the best she can. She is screaming that her little girl got shot,” said the 911 caller. 

Trotwood’s Police Chief says they were taken to Dayton Children’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

“She is awake and she is breathing. She’s crying,” said the caller as paramedics were dispatched. 

Police are still investigating the incident. They are asking anyone with information to come forward.
