BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) – A Beavercreek man accused of trying to join ISIS was arraigned in court Thursday.

Naser Almadaoji faces 20 years in prison if found guilty for attempting to provide resources to the foreign terrorist organization.

He was arrested in October while approaching TSA at John Glenn Airport in Columbus, on his way to Kazakhstan.

In August, he contacted multiple undercover FBI agents who were posing as ISIS supporters, saying he was willing to “assist with projects” in the U.S.

He was allegedly planning to be smuggled into Afghanistan to join the group.
