Man struck by train in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – A man was taken to the hospital Wednesday night after he was struck by a train in Springfield.

It happened around 8:50 pm near the intersection of Yellow Springs Street and West High Street.

Springfield Police tell 2 NEWS that the man, in his 50s, was taken to Springfield Medical Center with unknown injuries. CareFlight later transported the man to Miami Valley Hospital.

Police say the man was sitting on the tracks when he was hit.

The incident remains under investigation.
