TURTLE CREEK TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) — The man killed in a crash in Shelby County Thursday morning has been identified.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office said 24-year-old Dailan Day of Lockington, Ohio was killed in the crash.

The crash happened just after 6 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of S.R. 47 and Hardin-Wapakoneta Road in Turtle Creek Township.

Deputies say a pickup driven by Day ran through a stop sign on Hardin-Wapakoneta Road at State Route 47 and pulled into the path of another pickup. Day’s truck was hit and both pickups went off the road.

Day’s truck flipped and struck a residence located at the intersection.

Deputies say Day was partially ejected from his pickup and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two juveniles were inside the pickup truck with that man. They were taken to Wilson Hospital.

Crews had to cut the driver of the other pickup truck out of his vehicle. He was also taken to Wilson Hospital.

The gas company was called to the scene to determine if any damage was done to gas lines running to the house that was hit by the vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation.

Authorities shut down S.R. 47 in both directions from Hardin-Wapakoneta Road to Cross Street.
