XENIA, Ohio (WDTN) – One person is in custody after SWAT is called to a standoff in Xenia.

Xenia Police tell 2 NEWS the standoff situation started in the area of Sycamore Street and West Third Street at 7:00 p.m. Monday.

Investigators say a man was upset and aggressive, prompting the call to police.

Officers arrived at the scene and tried to speak with the man. Police say he made threats and went back inside a house.

When the man refused to come out, officers called SWAT and crisis negotiators to the scene.

Police say negotiators spoke with the man for several hours.

Authorities eventually broke out a window around midnight, leading the man to come outside to talk with authorities.

Police took the man into custody without further incident. He is being held in the Greene County Jail.

Investigators say he will likely face charges of inducing panic, but that will be determined by prosecutors at a later time.

Police say the man was the only person in the house.

No one was injured during the standoff.
