Local students are taking a stand against gun laws Friday.
Students from Oakwood and Fairmont High Schools organized the walkout at the Fraze to bring attention to nationwide problem.
2 NEWS Reporter Kristen Eskow was at the walkout and heard several students talk about having strict gun laws and observed a small group of counter protesters.
The counter protesters at the demonstration agreed gun violence need to be stopped but think tougher gun laws are not the answer.
The walkouts come after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting February 14 where 17 people were killed and more than a dozen were wounded.
