Local residents impacted by water main break

Local News

XENIA, Ohio (WDTN) –  Around thirty residents were without running water Wednesday after a water main broke around 3 a.m.

The break caused crews to close a portion of the road on Prugh Ave. near Arlington Dr.

City of Xenia officials say the extreme cold caused the water main break. Crews worked to repair it for more than ten hours and were able to restore water just before 1:30 p.m.

Some residents tell 2 NEWS they’re frustrated because the city never communicated with them.

A city spokesperson says personnel tried to alert residents by door to door notifications.
