Local events planned for International Women’s Day

(WDTN) —  There are several events planned across the Miami Valley for Internaitonal Women’s Day Friday.

Warped Wing Breweing Company and the Pink Boots Society

8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

26 Wyandot Street, Dayton, Ohio

Infuelntial women from the brewing industry will speak.

9:30-10:15 – Amy Graham from Columbus Brewing Company, Topic: Quality Control

10:15-11:00 – Lisa Wolters from Yellow Springs Brewery, Topic: You Must Be The Owner’s Wife

11:00-11:45 – Sara Hagerty from Origin Malting & Brewing Co., Topic: All About Malt

11:45-12:45 – Lunch break

12:45-1:30 – Molly Browning from Lallemand, Topic: All About Yeast & New England IPA’s

1:30-2:15 – Liz Stout from Seventh Son Brewing, Topic: Sensory Evaluation

2:15-3:00 – Tanya Brock from Fifth Street Brewpub, Topic: Being a Brewery Manager in a Male Dominated Industry

The event is free. Warped Wing Brewing Company will donate $1 from every pint sold until 3 p.m. to the Pink Boots Society.

Exhibit: Women Strong

Main Library Opportunity Space @ Patterson, 215 E. Third Street, Dayton, OH

Display open until March 29

The multi-media exhibit celebrates the lives and work of women artists in the Dayton region.

The 11 exhibiting artists are:  Diana Barr, Yvette Walker-Dalton, Audrey Davis, Lois Fortson-Kirk, Erin Smith-Glenn, Cydnie Deeds King, Janet Lasley, Nasrin Majidi, Marsha Pippenger, Frances Turner and Yufeng Wang.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. 

Barrell House celebration:

5-11 p.m

417 E. Third St., Dayton, Ohio

The Barrell house is a female co-owned business. Friday’s event will feature women who work in the craft beer industry. Speakers begin at 6 p.m.

Donations will be accepted for the YWCA of Dayton. Barrell House will donate $1 from every pint sold Friday.

Food will be available from Griller B’s 5pm-12am.
