DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The search is on for more suspects wanted for firing multiple paintball rounds at the intersection of Burkardt Avenue and Jersey St. and injuring two children.
"He was hanging out the window, just shooting at people," detailed one 911 call.
Surveillance video captured the moment the paintball gun was aimed out of a car at the corner of Burkardt Ave and Jersey street about 6:30 Monday night.
Ryan Wilkinson lives in the area and says it is alarming but not surprising.
"Kids around here don't have too much guidance and that's really a key why they do so much stuff that's just ridiculous," said Wilkinson. "There's nobody saying 'hey, this is what you could do instead of going around a neighborhood shooting paintballs,' so that's what they do, drive around shooting paintballs as dumb as it is."
But what is alarming, are the victims.
A four-year-old was hit in the shoulder and a six-year-old suffered from a wound on the right side of his face after their mother says a black man leaned out of the car and shot towards them, putting other parents on extra alert.
"Having kids myself, I don't want that to ever, for them to be a victim of that violence so keeping an eye out is definitely a good thing to do," said Brian Hawkins, a Dayton resident.
Police are looking for a silver Chevy Impala with damage to the hood and ask any information be called in at 222-STOP.
