A Kettering resident said the email from US Bank concerning her credit card account looked real and shared it with police.
This resident received the written email with this on it, “Your credit-based card account was billed to Apple Store for $1,836.85”.
The resident contact US Bank and told them about this information and later found out it was a scam. The company said someone else called about this scam.
The Kettering Police Department posted this on its Facebook page Tuesday saying the woman did not click on any links or go to a website provided by the email.
Police remind the community to watch out for scams and say do not click on links or call phone numbers provided on the scam’s paper.
