Kettering Police need help identifying alleged armed robbery suspect

Local News

Police are looking for this man in the video who allegedly committed an armed robbery in Kettering Thursday. Customers and a manager were in the store when the incident occurred.

Police say this incident happened just before 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Family Video on East Dorothy Lane.

Police describe the suspect as a white male, between 5’8” and 5’10” with a medium build, wearing brown shorts, a navy hoodie and an orange billed baseball hat.

Public Information Officer Joe Ferrell told 2 News, police believe clear surveillance video will help them catch the suspect. In the past, clear video has helped track down people in a matter of days.

“We’re seeing better and better video at businesses which really help us do our job a lot easier,” Ferrell said.

Officer Ferrell said businesses should be observant of any strange behavior. He said businesses should also be weary of customers trying to hide their face with hoods, hats or sunglasses.

“If they notice that, go ahead and give us a call because we can come out and check on that person to see exactly what they’re doing,” Ferrell said.

If you have any information about this incident, you are encouraged to contact the Kettering Police Department.
