KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) – The Kettering school district celebrated the grand opening of their new auditorium Friday.
The Fairmont auditorium was made possible by voters after approving a levy in 2016.
The new stage is more than 8,000-square feet larger than the original space and will be used to host three plays, a festival, and spring musical the school puts on each year.
“We have a tremendous music program here at the high school. We have over 700 kids in our program and they put on performances throughout the year for the community,” says Ken Lackey, Director of Business Services.
The old auditorium had been used since 1957.
