Judge sentences Dayton man to 20 years in prison in connection to fatal shooting

A Dayton man was sentenced Tuesday in connection to the shooting death of a man in September 2017. 

A judge sentenced 24-year-old Taevian Harris to 20 years in prison for the shooting death of 26-year-old Deandre Thomas.

Investigators obtained a search warrant and found an AK-47, shotgun and several other firearms at Harris’ house.

According to a press release from the Montgomery County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Harris  entered a guilty plea  before he was indicted on charges of involuntary manslaughter, felonious assault and having a weapon while under disability.
