Humane Society offering $19.02 adoption fee in December

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Throughout the month of December, you can adopt an animal from the Humane Society of Greater Dayton for less than twenty dollars.

The discount is being offered at the organization’s main shelter at 1661 Nicholas Rd., the MeowZa Cat Boutique inside the Dayton Mall, and all offsite adoption locations throughout the Miami Valley.

The $19.02 fee also celebrates that the Humane Society has been helping people and pets in the Miami Valley since 1902.

“Welcoming a new pet into your home can be a magical experience,” said Brian Weltge, President and CEO of the Humane Society of Greater Dayton. “We hope that through this exciting promotion, more people can enjoy the love and companionship that a pet can bring to their life.”

To streamline what is expected to be a busy adoption process for the shelter, they recommend you bring your most up-to-date veterinarian records for all pets in your home, a copy of your lease (if you rent) showing that you are allowed to have pets in your home, and an optional filled out adoption application, which can be found at this website.

Standard adoption procedures still apply, and your application must be approved before you can adopt an animal.
