One local organization is getting a big boost thanks to a local car dealership.
Buy a car – help save animals. It’s a simple concept that went full throttle for a month and a half. Today the Humane Society of Greater Dayton got a big surprise.
A big smile and surprise – 16 thousand dollars all for the Humane Society of Greater Dayton.
“Donations like this are critical because we aren’t supported by any tax dollars. everything that comes into our organization comes in to individual giving, grants foundations companies so we’re able to do amazing work with the amount that’s coming into our organization,” Brian Weltge, CEO Humane Society of Greater Dayton.
The funds came from the “share the love program” that ran from November to early January. Buy a new car and Subaru donates 250 dollars to a local charity. General Manager Brad Hamilton says he’s been partners with the humane society for years and made a big push to make this year big.
“Really excited I was laser focused on it this year – not like I haven’t been in the past but my goal was to beat by far whatever we’ve given to them. I wanted to see the big smile on Brian’s face when I gave him that check and I got it,” Brad Hamilton, General Manager Subaru of Dayton.
The hard work paid off – this 16 thousand dollar check was 7 thousand dollars more than last year.
“We have an enormous foster program, to help cats in our community many programs for animals in our community so this will be spread across the board to help many animals,” Weltge says.
Subaru of Dayton also donated a vehicle that will be given away at the end of the year. You can purchase tickets beginning Memorial Day weekend at the fury scurry event.
