HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN) — Huber Heights City Schools is closed Tuesday, Feb. 21 following a staff member’s death over the weekend.
On Sunday, February 19, 2023, Miami Township police officers were called to a home on Eckley Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers found Mackenzie Battle, 29, deceased. The Montgomery County Coroner’s office was called to the scene where the time of death is listed as 6:08 a.m.
The coroner confirms that the cause and manner of death have not been determined at this time. The Miami Township Police Department is continuing its investigation, authorities say.
According to a letter sent out by the district, a paraprofessional at Wright Brothers Elementary suddenly died over the weekend.
The district is closed for all students on Tuesday, Feb. 21, but staff is to report to their respective buildings.
The district said in the letter, “As we work together to cope with this loss, grief support will be provided to our students and staff at Wright Brothers throughout the district.”
