High winds cause damage to mobile home

Local News

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – High winds swept through a moblie home park, ripping apart a home and tossing debris throughout the area Sunday.

It happened at the Rose Garden Mobile Park Home on the 2700 block of Upper Valley Pike.

The debris left behind flew across the area, tearing down the structure and throwing pieces of insulation into the trees.

“We’ve had some strong winds come in like this but that was pretty rough .  It’s been about a couple years ago since we had a really bad one come through but I think that was the worst.” says David Sutton, the owner of the damaged trailer home.

Sutton said his instincts to take cover kicked in quickly and headed towards his  bathroom. “I put my body on top of (my wife) to make sure she was safe and the dog was safe. We’re okay we just got a little bit of damage,” Sutton said.

We have a crew on scene and are working to learn more about the damage in the area.  2 News will update this story when more information becomes available.
