SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) — Fire officials say a freon leak in an air condition unit led a building to be evacuated in Springfield Friday morning.

It happened around 7:40 a.m. Friday at the Kissell Center in the first block of Warder Street near Medina Avenue.

According to fire officials, a mechanic came to work and noticed the leak.

The building was evacuated and crews were called to the scene. No one was injured.

Fire and Hazmat crews responded. After investigating, crews put ventilation in place to remove the freon.

According to fire officials, the building should return to normal operations later Friday.
