DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Workers at Dayton Children’s Hospital made sure their patients did not miss out on Halloween this year.

Wednesday afternoon, the hospital held a parade. Hundreds of staff members dressed up and went room to room entertaining the kids and giving out treats.

The children even got to choose an outfit at the costume shop.

The staff hoped that the even brought a sense of normalcy to families.

“I think that kids love being kids and it’s Halloween, and we don’t want them to miss out on these things just because they’re in the hospital,” said Child Life Manager Karen Muller.

This year’s theme was “Children’s Book Characters.”
