PIKE COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) – Two grandmothers charged in the Pike County shootings appeared in court Thursday.

We now know Fredericka Wagner is accused of lying about bulletproof vests in the Rhoden murder investigation. She is charged with perjury and obstruction of justice for her testimony about the vests made to a grand jury.

The defense requested Wagner’s house arrest conditions be changed so she can go to church and a group home for developmentally challenged adults, but the judge had not ruled on that yet.

The judge did order Wagner not to contact any of her family members facing charges and to start paying for her house arrest immediately.

Police say 65-year-old Rita Jo Newcomb lied to a grand jury to try and cover up her relatives’ involvement in the crimes.

She is facing charges of obstructing justice, perjury, and forgery.
